Working in close partnership with the veterinary community, our mission is to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to animal health management and to make step-down care services available, accessible and affordable to pet owners.
Our long-term vision is to be recognised as a centre of excellence in Asia for compassionate, professional integrative care in animal health management.
Founded in August 2017 after a two-year journey that saw the passing of three much-loved family dogs, Heal Animal Wellness and Rehabilitation ("Heal") is an integrative care centre for domestic animals in Hong Kong and the first of its kind dedicated solely to providing step-down care for animals.
With a focus on rehabilitation and preventive therapies, our specialist services include hydrotherapy, clinical massage and acupressure, to help manage chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia and degenerative myelopathy. Our tailored programmes also help animals with post-surgical recovery and in promoting general fitness.
Like you, we care about animals. We are deeply committed to the health and welfare of Hong Kong’s pets and want to provide more options for them to stay fit and healthy so that they can enjoy good quality of life.
A former journalist and marketing executive in financial services, Wendy left corporate life after 20 years in July 2017, to realise a two-year vision of setting up Hong Kong's first integrative care facility for animals - and Heal was born in August 2017.
Wendy is a trained canine hydrotherapist from Greyfriars Veterinary Rehabilitation Referrals in the U.K. and is also a U.S.-credentialed small animal massage practitioner from the Northwest School of Animal Massage and the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute.
She is the founder of Heal Animal Rehabilitation Limited in Hong Kong, which owns the Heal Animal Wellness and Rehabilitation centre.
How to reach us
The design and construction of Heal's rehabilitation centre took nine months to complete and opened in May 2018. The purpose-built facility in Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong island includes a custom-made 6m x 3m hydrotherapy pool designed and engineered by Barr + Wray - the UK's leading provider of commercial swimming pools.
Clinical massage and acupressure services are often used to complement a hydrotherapy programme and are available at the centre. These are also offered as a home-based service for palliative care.
